Understanding patients and carers thoughts on breathlessness and the role of supportive care

This study aims to identify and develop resources (apps and websites) to help people living with Intersitital Lung Disease and carers in the management of their symptoms and illness.

People living with Interstitial Lung Disease and their carers are invited to participate in a 30-45 minute interview about their illness and current medications. Participants will also be asked about their knowledge and beliefs about different symptom management approaches, including medication and non-medication based techniques, and supportive care.

Primary Breathe Australia: A research program aiming to improve the recognition and management of people suffering from chronic breathlessness

Chronic breathlessness is considered a forgotten symptom, suffered by one in ten Australians. This 5-year research program aims to develop and trial an evidence-based, community-led breathlessness self-management intervention that will be co-designed together with patients, carers, and primary care health providers and delivered in the community to people living with chronic breathlessness. This program will culminate in a 2-year multi-site clinical trial across metropolitan and regional Victoria.

We are now recruiting healthcare workers, patients and carers. Click here to learn more about Primary Breathe Australia, or contact us to find out more.
