Postures to Ease Breathing
You may feel more comfortable in the following positions. No one position suits everyone, so experiment and find what works best for you.
Standing
Let your shoulders and head drop down, relax your neck.
Try to keep your back straight.
Lean forward against a wall, door frame, table or chair.
Relaxed Sitting
Lean forward with your elbows resting on your thighs.
Lean forward with your elbows resting on a table.
Keep your legs apart in these positions.
If you are breathless at rest or very tired
Lie on your side in bed with your upper arm resting on a pillow.
Sit leaning forward with your head and arms resting on pillows or cushions on a table.
